Imho it's quite likely Fordring will take up Arthas' mantle as Lich King - I think he's starting to exhibit the same moral....flexibility that unhinged Arthas. besides has anyone seen the last task in the crafting quest chain for the legendary axe? Slay 1000 Scourge inside Icecrown Citadel (more here in this link)

Well it's pretty obvious what will happen. Since Frostmourn is the blade that contains the ultimate evil, it won't be lootable. Why? because it will be destroyed within the fight itself. Ashbringer and the blade of Arthas will clash and break, resolving in a cleansing of both Arthas and maybe a reappearance of Fordring's son. In the end Tirion will save us all with a mass bubble to escape the wrath of the lich king, which, released from frostmourn, will try to curse us before he fades into the nether. However no chance, since Tirion blocks it all and dies from the spell itself. Alexstrasza will offer to revive the poor bastard, but he will refuse the help and die to join his son in the here after. Loot will drop after the dramatic cutscene is over and killing Arthas and handing in the quest item will bestow a buff of +10% to all stats to everyone in Northrend areas and dungeons. The buff will cancel BoK since it is more powerful. Well, obvious...
